Success without Stress: Kacey’s journey recovering from burnout and finding balance

The following is Kacey’s experience with Jen’s 1:1 life coaching program after 12 weeks.

Before starting with Jen, I was experiencing increasing levels of burnout and anxiety. I didn’t know how to deal with it, and felt too mentally exhausted and overwhelmed to actively do something about it. To make matters worse, I was passing so much judgement on myself. After 4 thrilling years in my career, I found myself unsure of my next move and feeling rather lost. I felt lazy, ashamed, like I was wasting time, and wasting all those hardworking years I spent “getting ahead.” Alternatively, all I wanted to feel was a sense of peace, happiness, and purpose.

I thought more yoga, meditation, and an artistic outlet were my tangible solutions to feeling more like “myself” (being the problem solver I am) - but what I didn’t realize was how much my mindset and limiting beliefs were truly holding me back.

I was feeling constantly worried about my next move, strategizing, having no time or awareness to celebrate my wins. Jen’s keen perspective helped me realize that I was putting too much pressure on myself, being a cruel boss, neglecting myself in the moment - truly failing at self love and self care.

My sessions with Jen helped me see the honest truth about the unnecessary pressure I put on myself, what my body and spirit truly needed, and how to reset my mind and reinvent myself.

Rarely I used to find time for reflection, an activity that brings your feelings and thoughts to light. By talking through them with Jen, I was able to confront them, debunk them, and move forward in a way that I truly want. Being aware of our thoughts and feelings allow us to control them, and it’s an incredible tool!

I know now that I need to give myself that love I deserve - to have my back, give myself rest when I need it, and truly believe in my abilities without the outside validation I used to crave. And the truth is… once we put ourselves first the rest falls into place. When I felt lost, I was really just in new territory, taking time to discover my true passions. And now that I’ve given myself the time and space to do so, I’m already seeing it pay off in my career.

Now I can see things more clearly. After years of working nonstop, I was extremely tired and needed rest, and taking time for rest is okay! The truth is that you can have time for self care AND be a badass entrepreneur. Working more does not make you work better.
